Google Girl Hackathon 2023
- Girl Hackathon 2023 is an individual participant hackathon and it will include three stages: Google Online Challenge, Learning Cohorts, Virtual Ideathon Round.
Round 1: Google Online Challenge (GOC)
- All participants whose application has been accepted and confirmed by the Girl Hackathon team will be required to participate in the Google Online Challenge Round. This is a coding challenge that will assess participants online in the areas of coding/puzzles.
- The GOC will take place for 60 min and all participants entering the hackathon will be required to participate and you will be provided a time window between which you will need to take on the GOC
- Participants will be judged on their performance in the coding challenge alongside their individual profile screening through resumes
- The results for GOC and the participants advancing to the next round will be announced shortly after the GOC round is complete
- Participants proceeding forward to the next round will receive an email from the Girl Hackathon team
Round 2: Learning Cohorts & Assignment Evaluation
- Select participants who surpass Round 1 will be invited to be a part of Google Learning Cohorts an immersive experience for participants to learn from Googlers thereby creating a supportive and collaborative environment for learning
- Participants will be invited for specific workshops on topics that will allow them to grow their profile in the world of engineering so as to be prepared for real life scenarios
- Virtual Classroom learning Model: In this, participants will undergo workshops and training to help equip them to work holistically on problem statements. This learning can then be put into use for the consecutive rounds
- Post the workshops participants would be provided with assignments which they will need to complete and submit within the stipulated time limit
- Evaluation: Participants assignment submissions would be reported to us and evaluated by Google engineers
Round 3: Virtual Ideathon & Final Presentation
- Participants who perform well in Round 1 and Round 2 will move forward to Round 3 which will be in two parts
- First part will include all Round 3 participants to submit their idea and the code repository to a themed technical challenge. Based on their performance in this section they will be invited to the next part
- Code repository will be evaluated by our engineers on pre-identified rubrics and further a smaller cohort of participants will be invited to present their solutions to our judges
- Note: All participants proceeding to Round 3 will not by default move to the final presentations only select participants based on their ideas and code repository will be invited further
- Final Winners and Runners Up will be identified post the live presentation round
Requirements:
- To enter the hackathon, the individual must complete the registration form and provide required information.
- All participants will be required to share their emails. Please submit secondary emails, in the event that we are unable to reach you on your primary email. You are required to keep yourself updated on all emails issued to you.
- Registrations will close on May 28, 2023 at 11:59 PM IST
- The hackathon starts from June 2, 2023 to and end on July 6, 2023, you will work on the hackathon during this timeframe only [Dates are subject to change and participants will be informed in advance]
- Please ensure there is only one registration from your end.
- Students would be eligible to apply if they are from Bachelors, Masters or Integrated Dual Degree Engineering and related courses within computer science and allied branches only
- Students from the following graduating batches can enter the hackathon [2024, 2025, 2026, 2027]
- Do ensure you submit your most updated resume in the form of a Google drive link and set the access to “Anyone with the link can view” . This will allow us to screen your profile in Round 1 failing to do so we will not be able to proceed further

Eligibility:
To participate in the hackathon:
- Students must be enrolled in an engineering college in India and must be studying in the year as submitted/stated during registration.
- Students must belong to a circuit majority course.
- Students may only register as an individual
- Students must be Indian nationals. Foreign national students are not allowed to participate in this hackathon.
- Please only enroll for the hackathon with your personal email credentials. Please also add your university email as secondary in the form.
- This is a women only student program.
